This rare original Civil War Gar slouch hat has the GAR badge and retains the sweat band with the makers name of Continent.These were worn by Civil War veterans after returning home from the war at Gar meetings.This hat had been in storage for 100 years and we have not cleaned it in anyway.After we took the photos we realized there were some dirt spots on the camera lense that show up in the same spot on all of the pictures however the hat is dirty and does have a hole.
