This is an old Grand Trunk Western (GTW RR) Railroad brakeman uniform including hat,coat,vest and pants. This railroad uniform was purchased from an estate sale where the man had started working for the railroad in the 1940's. The hat is marked: GTW BRAKEMAN. It has a tag inside: Price Built Uniform Caps Accessories Ed. V. Price & Co. Chicago, 7 1/4. It measures: 6 1/2" across the inside opening and is 10" across from front to back.The buttons on the coat and vest are all marked Grand Trunk RR and have a GT in the middle of them. The coat is marked inside: Marshall Field & Company Uniform Division Twelfth Floor The Merc and SE Mart, Chicago. The pants have a button up fly. The uniform is in very good condition with only some tears in the liner on the inside at the sleeves which dont affect the look and appeal of this great piece of americana.
