This is an outstanding antique Railway Express Agency railroad train depot porcelain sign in near mint condition measuring 12" x 72" and probably dating from the late 1920s or 1930s.
These commonly hung on the outside of old railroad depot buildings signifying the public could ship there freight,parcels and other items through the depot making them equivalent to the modern day UPS or Fedex.In small community depots the railroad station agent among all of his train related duties also served as the Railway Express agent.
