This rare pole mount two sided antique gas station sign advertises Socony Vacuum credit cards honored here and may of attached to a gas pump island pole.Socony-Vacuum was formed as a result of the merger between Standard Oil and Vacuum Oil in the early 1930s and later became Socony Mobil in the 1950s.This is the first one of these service station signs i have seen and even though it shows its age it is still a great piece for any Standard or Mobil collector.The sign itself measures 14" x 23" and the brackets mount to a 4" diameter pole or larger.
