What a rare piece of Naval history we are to proud offer you with this US Navy coffee pot.According to a noted Naval historian there were only 48 of these antique US Navy battleship coffee pots produced in the latter part of the 1800s.They were made for Captain or Admiral messes on battleships by Wilcox SP Co. and dated 1878.It has the USN mark with an eagle holding arrows in its talons.It is original with a porcelain or crock lined interior and is in excellent condition except for the top knob being pushed in which we decided to leave as it is.There is reference to an example of one of these coffee pots being in the collection of the Naval History Museum located at the US Naval Academy and valued at $20,000.
