This is a pair of US and Nebraska vintage flags that were used by the North Platte High School marching band dating from the 1930s.They were presented to the school by PR Halligan 163 of the American Legion in 1931 which is engraved in a brass band on the flag pole.The flag poles themselves come in two pieces for an overall measurement of 9.5' long and are made of oak.The engraved bands commemorate several competitions they competed in including the 1937 National Music Contest in Lawrence,Kansas and Nebraska Music Contests in Lincoln 1935;Kearney 1936 and Hastings 1937.The flags are in great condition and come with a leather flag pole marchers harness and have brass eagle feet on the top which appear to of had more above them at one time.
