Rare 1920's Antique Sinclair Motor Oil Half Gallon Can

  This is a rare antique Sinclair motor oil half gallon can dating from the 1920's. This one does not use the name Opaline in the labeling which we believe may mean it came earlier in the 1920's but we are not for sure. The reason we say this is the term Opaline was used in their labeling for a long period after when they began to incorporate the dinosaur into the can design so it wouldn't make sense to use it then stop then start using it again. When these early cans pop up the vast majority are marked Opaline as compared to those that aren't which would seem to make this can more difficult to find.
  As you can see this can does have wear to the finish (more on one side than the other) like they all do but i would describe it to be in above average condition in comparison to most of the ones you usually see for sale when they pop up. There are no rust through spots anywhere with the cap and spout both still present.
