A vintage motorcyclist hat from the Claude Salmon Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealership in Oakland,California. Claude Salmon after originally working at a dealership started his own motorcycle business by opening a shop called Salmon & Wilson Motorcycles with Rick Wilson in Fresno,California. He opened his own dealership in the 1930s at 3039 Myrtle Street In Oakland. He was a big name in the bay area back in the early days of Harley not only in sales but also was involved in the promotion of racing and published a newsletter as well. I believe he offered these hats back before Harley produced their own line of hats with the Harley patch in the front.. Circa 1940s
