Vintage Mirro Matic 35 Cup Electric Coffee Percolator & Box

This vintage Mirro-Matic 35 cup electric coffee percolator is a model M-0126 that comes with the original box. When we plugged it in after adding some water it began percolating but the red light didn't come. I do not know whether it's supposed to come on right away or after the coffee is done because we only tested it for a few seconds when it began percolating then unplugged it.
