Vintage Sansui SP-1500 Speaker Set & Original Boxes

This is a pair of vintage Sansui SP-1500 speakers with the original boxes. I hooked the speakers up to a receiver and they seemed to produce good sound but each time at a point where i had raised the volume up quite a ways the receiver gave a message stating "overload" and cut the sound. I do not know if this is an issue with the speakers or some kind of conflict with the receiver. There is heavy wear on one corner and a few nicks in the grill with some light wear to the speaker cabinets.
